Date, Chia and Coconut Balls

The health benefits of Dates are numerous, not to mention Chia Seeds and Coconut. So, I’ve thrown them all together for a yummy snack when craving something sweet but nutritious.

Dates are packed full of vitamins and minerals, promote good bone health, boost the nervous system, aid in digestion and are a great energy booster, making them the perfect sugar choice for kids. Chia Seeds are rich in fibre and protein aswell as Omega-3 Fatty acids for heart health and of course the all-powerful coconut gives us anti-microbial effects in its fatty acid which ‘kills disease-causing bacteria, fungi, yeasts and viruses’ according to mybody+soul.com.au.

Overall, a great nutritious snack to give Bubs in small proportions, as under 2, little ones still need minimal sugars even though they’re natural sugars. To read more about good vs bad sugars, click here.

Serving tipI rolled mine into logs so that my 9 month old could hold it more easily.

That’s all there is to it. Super easy, super nutritious. A yummy snack without the guilt!
